Daniel Martin, Helbling Languages;
This 212-page resource book firstly reviews the use of interactive whiteboards then introduces the concept of ‘Web 2.0 tools’, internet resources which can be used with phones, tablets and laptops. Chapter four, Activities, provides a range of practical ideas in three sections: image-based, sound-based and text-based. Some ideas such as ‘Spot the difference’ are familiar and updated for the digital age, while others are inventive, like ‘Trending topics’ which uses language from the Twitter website. Variations are given. The online video tutorials show how to use tools like VoiceThread, Padlet and Wordle, and add value to the book. Worth investigation.
